Oh for God's sake not another self examination! The guilt trip is the icing on the cake. I feel sorry for the personality types that can't switch off to this conditioning and will spend the rest of the day examining themselves and getting depressed because praying to Cinderella or Jehovah or the cookie monster has no effect.

Guilt-Tripping Questions In Today's Text! (And My Replies To These Questions)
by Divergent inthursday, december 8. take your stand against him, firm in the faith.—1 pet.
5:9.. to do that, we need to prepare our mind and heart, to train ourselves now to do what is right.
we do not know what our spiritual warfare may involve in the future.

Hello Skepsis and welcome.
Congratulations on waking up. You have been mistaking a controlling cycle of cult indoctrination for a spiritual feeding program from on high. That's the mistake of a lifetime Skepsis, the sooner it can be rectified the better. Leaving was one of the most stressful times in my life but looking back I feel I am finally living life my way and that's just great. Personally I couldn't imagine having to pioneer for 5 months just because of what others think of me but at the same time I've heard of others who have made a massive success of a slow fade waking loved ones up in the process. So I guess my only advice is don't let fear hold you back from living your life your way.
Cheers

I wonder if Yarden was taught about how antisemitic WT was in the Rutherford era? I wonder if his adoption of JW beliefs would have been so smooth if he had laid his eyes on Rutherford's letter to Hitler?

You know it's time to give up the JW religion when your route call tells you to
by jambon1 inlasting memory of the latter period of time in the organisation:.
i had a route call with the magazines whom i'd called on for a number of years.
eventually when i become a parent i became consumed with negativity, doubt (blood issue) & depression.

GB member Geoffrey Jackson going apostate
by darkspilver inyes, it's true, geoffrey jackson, the cleverest member of the governing body, is going apostate.. he's already written two scholarly books, the question is .... when is his third book going to be released!!.....
desirousofchange: "faded" is definitely only an "apostate" term.
i don't know of it being used by wt publications or "in the dark" jwsberrygerry: geoff jackson used it during the arc..

The first time I heard 'fade' was on jwfacts, but might I suggest that because Mr Stewart used the term in his questioning that Jackson simply used the term to accommodate him?

Hello darkspliver.
We had some friends living in Grenada when hurricane Ivan struck. The org was quick to respond then too, in getting the willing volunteers to rebuild bros homes. I also remember word of mouth being used to lovingly remind these brothers to donate insurance payouts back to the wbts. Watchtower always wins darkspliver. Just saying.

Some recent baptism figures in the UK - is there a "bounce back"?
by freddo inwell, round my way (south of the uk) all the way up to and including the regional conventions this summer, baptism numbers have been extremely low.
but i have just received news of three recent circuit assembly days where the figures seem to be higher.
(all have been across the last three weekends at a uk assembly hall in october).

Most are probably kids desperate to relieve their natural urge to procreate, which they can only do when they get married, which they can only do when they...get baptised. Clever old watchtower...

Another "good" elder might be getting the axe....
by humblepotato inso our congregation is full of hardliner elders, 3 of them, who are not gentle, kind or loving.. people have either moved away or quit trying because one elder inparticular was going to drive them crazy with all his rules and nit picking and being righteous over much.
(and he is pissed that he hasn't been accepted to the school.
hmmm, i wonder why!).

I hope he gets removed too. He sounds too good a man to be an elduh. Let the others bend over backwards cutting through boring, unnecessary workloads-heaped upon them so that they don't have time to stop and think of how much of their lives they are wasting for a pointless cult.
The real test of his decentness will be whether or not he shuns his daughter.

Today's Text: Reject Apostacy!
by Divergent inmonday, october 10. renounce unrighteousness.—2 tim.
2:19.. god’s word gives specific advice concerning the types of unrighteousness that christians must renounce or reject.
for instance, in the immediate context of 2 timothy 2:19, we find that paul tells timothy “not to fight about words” and to “reject empty speeches.” (2 tim.

Amazing how they cultify\twist this text to yet again focus the drones on the massive problem they have with apostates. A problem so great in 1st century Christianity that it (apostasy)is mentioned a whole 2 times in the entire Christian Greek scriptures.
